Goodbye 2012 – Columbus Wedding Photography

So I realize it’s almost February of 2013, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t give a blog post shout-out to my amazing 2012 clients and wedding couples. I have to let you all know how very thankful I am to have the privilege of getting to know you, to practice my art on an almost daily basis, and to share my photography with the world (ok, at least the world wide web). I have met and traveled to some really cool places. When I was just looking back on all of the photo sessions in 2012, it feels like it’s been a couple of years all rolled into one. Which I absolutely love. When life feels like that, I know I’m getting the most out of the time I have on this spinning globe. Some 2012 highlights for me would be: Seeing my returning client’s families evolve, grow up and change. The perfect blue sky that meets the perfect gust of wind that meets the hair of my subject that is captured by the click of my camera. That happened a lot in 2012. Shooting the wedding of a bride that booked me two years in advance. I remember when it felt like it was forever until I was going to shoot it. Now it exists in photographs. Having my best June booking numbers to date. Traveling to Natchitoches, Louisiana for a beautiful southern wedding. My neon green Ford Fiesta hatchback I rented in Natchitoches (as if I didn’t have out-of-towner written all over me anyways). Discovering some gem wedding locations here in Ohio, like the Botzum farm and the Georgian Manor, that are so perfect it’s beyond words. Entering a few Wedding Photography contests. Introducing a new product line of books and printed materials. Soaking up all the creative touches each of my subjects put into their events. I’ve been so blessed to have brides who have a passion for creative touches.

2013 is here now, and I’m so excited to see what this year has in store for the company. Please enjoy some of my favorite pictures from this past year! XO Jess

Happy Holidays

From our family to yours, Happy Holidays! May you keep love in your hearts and food in your bellies. Love always, Scott and Jess

Jordyn- Columbus Newborn Photography

Jordyn was 9 days old when i photographed her, and I still can’t believe how animated and awake she was! She was awake for almost the entire session, would grab on to my hand and would coo when you’d tallk to her just right. You could completely see her little personality come out already! So fragile, innocent, and new….it was quite the experience to look into her little eyes and think about all of the years of life that will pass over her. I know she’s in good hands, though, as she has two brothers and two sisters- all of whome love her very much. As the youngest child myself, I also know she might get away with a lot when she grows up!  I know that she will grow up and the next time I see her she will be so much bigger. I’m so thankful, though, that there will always be this piece of Jordyn at only 9 days old. XO Jess

Audrey- Columbus Childrens Photography

Audrey was only 1 month old when her parents had me come over and capture her amazing little face! I can’t wait to see how she grows up and develops a littler personality of her own. After her guard dog got used to me, he let me shoot some beautiful photos of her! I hope you enjoy! XO Jess

Ronald McDonald House – A Toast to Tinseltown

I had such a great time at this amazing event last month. This event had an outdoor red carpet that each attendee walked down and they got the proper paparazzi treatment complete with escort Brutus Buckeye! Inside, the live red carpet footage was projected from a scrim hanging from the balcony of the Ohio Theater. Guests walked through this projection surface and made their way to the main stage where they were greeted with fantastic food, drinks and a massive silent auction- all to benefit the Columbus Ohio Ronald McDonald House Charity. Enjoy! XO Jess

Estella- Columbus Children’s Photography

One of my favorite shoots every year is when I get to photograph Estella. Not only is she the coolest, but her family is freakishly talented at throwing parties…as you will see below. Their attention to detail is awe-inspiring. This party had a Rock Star theme, and each person came up with their own “rock-star name”. Really cute names like “Lady Na-Na” and “Estella’s Bad Mama Jama” were in the house (mine was Jessie J) Estella turned two and she spent the day showing me her dance moves, how to wear heels properly, how to throw a football, reading me stories, and how to properly bounce until you fall down from exhaustion! All that and she was sick with a fever! She’ll never let that stop her from having a good time:) Enjoy! XO Jess

Lyla- Columbus Family Photography

Look at those cheeks! Aren’t they to die for?! I was so lucky to photograph this little love a couple weeks ago in Columbus. I also snapped a few of the fantastic pets they have…who were such posers! Enjoy! XO Jess
