German Village Fall Family Photos

Look at this little pumpkin! I just wanted to hop on here and wrap up Familypalooza on the blog with this sweet fall session from last year. I photographed Sharon and Justin’s wedding a few years back and now they have adorable little Griffin as part of their family! When we took these photos, German Village was in full fall color and the air was getting just cold enough to give a rose-colored kiss on the end of your nose. This little man was so dapper in his shawl neck sweater. I couldn’t stop smiling the entire session. Thank you again to the Jorgenson family for having me over to document this special day!

I started Familypalooza September 1st with a session I did for the Byrnes last year. Now I’m so excited to share the session I did this year 10 days after baby Wyatt was born. We made it a front porch distanced newborn session because of Covid-19. The photos never do justice to how small these babes really are. When Jess brought him out, I felt the breath pass out of me. It is such a cool experience to meet a newborn for the first time. So new, tiny, and helpless. And Wyatt was so bright-eyed and awake, which I absolutely love. His eyes soaking up all the new sights, trying to make sense of it all. And I felt so grateful to be there. This year has been very challenging for so many. But here in the middle of all of that, is a new precious life.

Delaware OH Family Photos

There have been so many great moments to 2020 and seeing this family was one of my favorite parts! I love Christie and Ingmar. I did their wedding a few years back and since then have had the privilege of documenting their extended family every couple of years. Getting the email that they are coming into town is the best email of the year! This was the first time I had met their baby girl and I couldn’t stop staring. She is so beautiful and sweet. Her older brother is so proud of her! My favorite photos were when he played duck-duck-goose around her. He has so much energy so asking him to run was 100% ok with him!  Thank you to this beautiful family for becoming such a wonderful part of my life! XO J

Columbus Extended Family Photography

I love this family!! And I’m not going to lie, shooting this many people at once is hard. But it is a beautiful rollercoaster that I absolutely adore. It was so much fun to see how much all of the kids have grown since the last time I saw them all last year. And there was even a new addition to photograph too! This year we made sure to get the whole family in front of the house the siblings all grew up in. This way they can always have a keepsake of where they grew up, and where their children now run and play. I think my favorite photo from the day was the one of the immediate family. It is so obvious they have so much love for each other. Thank you so much to the Flynn Family!

I hardly ever do studio shoots, which made this session so unbelievably special for me. Writing about it now is even more special because I just did this little guy’s first-year photos a couple of weeks ago! Meet baby Owen. He was so awake for our shoot, but I loved that. I love his calm little eyes, his squishy little cheeks, and how snuggly he looked when he was all bundled up. And what’s even more exciting is this little guy is going to become a big brother right around Christmas time! Thank you to the Caudills for becoming such a big piece of my heart over the past few years. I can’t wait to share their most recent shoot in the coming weeks! XO Jess

Grange Insurance Audubon Family Photographer

Ok so after the last month of posting, it’s probably no surprise that one of my favorite places in Columbus is the Grange Insurance Audubon Center. There’s just something about how the light rolls in there that is nothing short of spectacular. Somehow this session slipped through the cracks last year and I never posted it. When I look back at it, I absolutely fall in love with all of the silly faces, genuine smiles, and beautiful love this family shares. Is there any better feeling than when a baby smiles at you? That day, baby E.J. had all the smiles for us, and it just melted my heart! And I think my favorite photos from the day were when big sister Lola held baby E.J. in her arms.

This was the second time I’ve had the honor of photographing the Lewis family, and since last time their family has grown by two! Thank you so much for your trust and without further ado, the Lewis family!

Downtown Dublin Family Photos

I shot this adorable family’s wedding last year. Instead of an engagement shoot, they opted for a family shoot after their wedding. Their daughter Mary stole all the thunder! This late fall shoot from last year was cold, but they all made sure to keep warm with plenty of snuggles.

We met up outside the new Dublin library. It has the best modern lines and beautiful landscaping as well. It actually started to rain, but luckily inside is cool too and little Mary was able to play in the children’s area for a while with mom and dad. I love the photo where she’s in the crawl circle looking out at the world around her. Thank you so much to the Harrison’s for being so wonderful in so many ways! XO Jess

Columbus In-home newborn session

Today is my birthday! I just love that I was born in September because it’s right when the air starts to become manageable and the whole world feels like it’s air-conditioned lol. Strangely enough, most of my good friends are Virgos as well. I’m not sure if it’s a coincidence, or if it’s a Virgo thing that we just like each other. Either way, today I’m celebrating. And I’m celebrating on the blog by posting this session from a family I just love and adore.

Late last year I had the honor of meeting little Camille! She is the daughter of one of my past brides and grooms. From the moment I met her mom Traci, we just clicked. Now I have shared their engagement, wedding, and now the start of their family and I couldn’t feel more blessed. She was awake for most of our session, and I just melted at her beautiful and inquisitive little eyes. Seriously, babies are the best. The absolute best. And thank you Andrew and Traci for letting me give baby Camille her first closeup!

Family Photo Session at Whetstone Park of Roses

Summer twirls with dad, snuggles with mom, and laughing family pile-ups! This session is so beautiful and comes to you from the Park of Roses, one of my favorite parks in Columbus. I have had the honor of photographing them before, but the Locke family has grown! Meet Oliver, the cutest little babe ever. He was right around a year old when we shot these last year. His older sister Clara is extremely proud to be the older sister. It’s also her birthday in the next couple of days (we’re almost birthday twins!). Having met her when she was 2, I just can’t believe that’s even possible how quickly time has passed.

More adorable cuteness on the blog tonight! I was so excited to meet up with Jon and Kasia again (I did their wedding and engagement shoots a while back). Welcome to the world Amelia! This shoot is part of a large collection of family shoots from last year that never saw the light of day. So, technically, Amelia is now a year old. Still, I just can’t get enough of those adorable newborn cheeks. And look at her beautiful lips? She’s just a stunning little Gerber-worthy babe. I also love the way her parents styled her nursery with flowers and soft pinks and creams. And definetly not to be forgotten, their doggie was dressed to the nines for his photos, too!
