So excited to share this wedding today!! In early October I had the honor of traveling to the Lighthouse Inn on Cape Cod for Tom and Sally’s beach wedding! Hurricanes had been hitting the US at just the right time to make the weather at the cape a bit unpredictable. On the day of their wedding, the rain held off just long enough for them to still have an outdoor beach ceremony. When we did portraits, the wind was picking up just enough for sally’s dress to come alive and create some dynamic images against some dramatic skies. The rain and storms came during their afternoon reception, but ended right as the reception ended- It was pretty great timing.
The intimate ceremony was accompanied by a Scottish folk duo of violin and guitar. The bridal party consisted of immediate families and best friends. Their fall wedding colors were deep purple accented with orange and purple florals. The reception’s decor was put together by the bride’s mom. She even used a pumpkin to hold the bride’s bouquet on their sweetheart table. Little woodland animal details added the cutest accents to the tables. At the reception, the Scottish musical duo played fun and lively afternoon music. It was also special because Tom and Sally then spent their honeymoon in Scotland after their wedding.
On the grounds of the Lighthouse Inn, some of the rooms were actually cabins. After the reception, we took just a couple photos in front of their cabin. The whole area was so quaint and scenic. A beautiful retreat no matter what the weather. The day of their wedding was actually the last day the Inn was open for the season. Apparently, a lot of the Cape closes in mid-October for the coming winter months.
A special thank you to Tom and Sally and their family and friends for making the weekend so special. It was a truly beautiful experience that I’ll never forget! XO Jess
