This was a beautiful winter wedding I was lucky enough to capture earlier this year at the Bent Tree Golf Club. The details, especially on the cake, were simply stunning as you will see below. This wedding was especially cool because it was “in the round”, meaning they had friends and family sitting 360 degrees around them in the room.  These two have the most laid back, wonderful and fun personalities- especially when they are together. Sneak Peek- Columbus Baby Photography

I was able to photograph Lyla the other day. Aren’t her squishy cheeks so too cute? She was very stoic for most of the session, but started to crack out a few smiles as time went on. I always find this age so remarkable- there’s so many new things and growth happening every day.

 

Shawn & Troy- Columbus Family Photographer

In 2010 I photographed Shawn and Troy’s wedding- and now I’m photographing their amazing family! We all braved the rain for a mini-session under a covered bridge. It was such an awesome location up in Pickerington. I’m so excited to photograph them again in 2012 when the new little one arrives:)  Enjoy! XO Jess

We won the Wedding Wire Bride’s Choice Awards for 2012!

That means we are in the top 5% of wedding photography pros nationwide. I owe it all to my insanely awesome clients (they are the best!). I’m looking forward to this new year, and continuing to providing the best wedding photography in the Columbus, OH. area in 2013, 2014, 2015 and more!

Eric & Kelly- Detroit Wedding Photographer

There are weddings- and then there are weddings that will change the way you view weddings. Scott and I drove up to Detroit and photographed this wedding on a perfect but brisk late October day.  A beautiful lake front church and the Grosse Pointe War Memorial  provided a great backdrop for such a day. I have to say- this wedding wins the JMP most crazy fun wedding of 2011 hands down. Not only do they all (and I mean ALL)  know how to party, but you could feel so much love for these two. It was pure joy from everyone that was there- we felt very lucky to be a part of it. Enjoy! XO Jess

Kelly & Rob- Columbus Engagement Photography

If you’re a follower of my work, you’ll remember I photographed Kelly and Rob’s wedding last summer. What was cool about this was we did the “engagement” shoot after their wedding in the fall of last year. The pressure was off, the day was perfect, and the shots are amazing. I’m so happy to have shared in their lives- they are completely cool and laid back- a perfect combination for great shots. Enjoy! XO Jess

David & Amanda-Columbus Wedding Photography

David and Amanda are two of the kindest, funniest, most down to earth people you could ever know. I was so honored when they asked me to photograph their wedding late last year! (Can you believe we’re already on 2012?!) This wedding took place at the Vineyard Church of Columbus in the most beautiful intimate room, the chapel. For those who haven’t been to the Vineyard, it is a rather massive complex. Walking in, I didn’t know what to expect. Both the people and the facility were entirely wonderful to work with. The windows were artworks that encased dried flowers and botanicals. I think being able to bring nature in to an indoor setting really aids in a sense of spiritual connectivity. As the light bounced through the windows, vibrant colors surrounded the room. Amanda walked down the isle with an all-white bouquet, which I don’t see much. It is beautiful in its simplicity and I think it really accented her white gown perfectly. Gold shoes peaked out from under her dress and added a little bit of fancy-schmansy eye candy to the look! They had a very upscale color palate of black and white. After the ceremony, a festive reception was held in the Vineyard Church’s lobby area. Buckets of various flavored bottled sodas were a hit with kids and adults alike. All eyes were on the grand cake for most of the evening and the children eagerly awaited its cutting. As a wedding photographer, I couldn’t have asked for a couple that was any more in-love. They were completely enthralled with each other the entire night. It was beyond-words sweet to watch them interact. The night was filled with love and laughter and I’m so excited to be sharing these pictures with you today on the blog! XO Jess

 

Brittney & Christian- Ohio Wedding Photography

This beautiful wedding took place at The Barn at Walnut Glen in Waldo, Ohio. The location is such a hidden gem. A rustic wooden barn sits by a beautiful sun-kissed field. Days like this are savored in Ohio. A light breeze, a warm sun, and fragrant natural surroundings all added up to a very memorable and intimate affair. Every inch of the event was dripping with the most beautiful details- a photographer’s’ dream! Brittney and Christian had a rustic farm vibe to their decor. This wedding was overflowing with intimate touches and bright, beautiful fall colors. Hay bails served as seats for this outdoor sunset wedding. Mason jars, bright fall colored bouquets, a wall of family photos, and barn lights were just some of the eye candy. Brittney’s bridesmaids all wore leather cowboy boots with their vibrant orange bridesmaids dresses. Their dresses also had pockets which is an extra fun detail to have as a bridesmaid!  Brittney and Christian had a fingerprint tree instead of a guest book. I love this idea as an alternative to a traditional guestbook. Guests dip their hand in ink and print a “leaf” finger-print on a branch of the tree. Then, guests sign their name over their print. At the end, a whole tree emerges in-bloom with a catalog of guests who attended the wedding. It’s also special because instead of a book, there is now an artwork fit for hanging on your wall that you can admire for years to come.
An outdoor tent served as the reception site and was directly adjacent to the barn. Complete with a raised dance floor, this party was no joke. Everyone knew how to dance like a champ!
